Sprague Basketball "Coaching Objectives"
The Sprague Basketball Coaching Objectives are what the coaching staff of the Sprague Basketball Program is striving to provide for the basketball players at Sprague.
Increase Player Development

The Coaching Staff will offer a variety of opportunities for athletes to improve their skill development and athletic development

The Coaching Staff will offer a variety of opportunities in the off season to play 5 on 5 and develop their game

The Coaching Staff will emphasize skill development and shooting every practice

The Coaching Staff will have demanding practices that push players past their comfort zones
-
The Coaching Staff will review film weekly with the team and will review individual/team statistics in order to improve performance

The Coaching Staff will review individual goals (and team goals) with each member of the program and look to set a plan for off-season and in-season development

The Coaching Staff will aggressively pursue adding additional player development resources with fundraised money (I.E. Shooting Machines)
Provide Academic Support and Accountability

The Coaching Staff will stress the importance of going to class, getting to class on time, and doing your best in every class

The Coaching Staff will check everyone in program's grade weekly and have conversations with student-athlete's performing below their maximum potential in the classroom

The Coaching Staff will hold "Study Halls" for student-athletes that have below a "C" in a class 2 times a week during the season

The Coaching Staff will hold accountable student-athletes who do not attend class, have a repeated history of being tardy, or are not acting with integrity in the classroom

The Coaching Staff will reward student-athletes in the program that have made tremendous progress or have finished the semester with all A's and B's
Teach Life Skills

The Coaching Staff will stress the importance of integrity on and off the court

The Coaching Staff will demand your best effort and attitude every single day

The Coaching Staff will use opportunities throughout the season (games, practices, etc.) to teach about life skills

The Coaching Staff will provide at least 1 opportunity for a project to help the community

The Coaching Staff will teach student-athletes to communicate with their coaches on absences and hold athletes accountable who do not

The Coaching Staff will emphasize and teach that while we are trying to be successful at the game of basketball winning is not the only thing being a part of the basketball program is about
Create a Culture of Family

The Coaching Staff will create an environment where everyone (Regardless of role on the team) will feel valued

The Coaching Staff will organize team bonding activities to create a family atmosphere

The Coaching Staff will emphasize cheering on your teammates on the bench and celebrating others success

The Coaching Staff will emphasize playing as a team, ball movement, and working together to be successful
-
The Coaching Staff will bring back former Sprague Basketball Alumni to team events
